Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7 as its new small model for high-volume, latency-sensitive workloads such as summarization, classification, customer support, browser use and subagent tasks.

Lower prices and broader availability

For prompts up to 100,000 tokens, Anthropic lists pricing of $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens. Requests over 100,000 tokens are priced at $0.50 input and $2.50 output. The company says the model is available on Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure under the model ID claude-haiku-5-5.

Anthropic also added adjustable effort, cut Sonnet 5.5 cache-read pricing in half and announced monthly API credits for Max and Team subscribers. Performance, cost-reduction and safety comparisons in the launch materials are vendor-reported pending independent evaluation.
