OpenAI and ServiceNow expanded their enterprise partnership on October 28, connecting ChatGPT conversations with governed ServiceNow actions. The companies say the available ServiceNow plugin can let authorized users investigate incidents, assess change risk and update records without leaving ChatGPT.

ServiceNow remains the system where those actions execute. Its Action Fabric applies the customer’s existing business rules, permissions and approvals, an important distinction from giving a general-purpose assistant unrestricted access to operational data.

The partnership also sets out planned product work. Codex is expected to connect with ServiceNow’s AI Workflow Factory, OpenAI cybersecurity capabilities are intended to support vulnerability triage and remediation, and OpenAI voice models are planned for risk-assessment workflows in ServiceNow’s control tower.

Those roadmap items are not all available today. ServiceNow says enhanced plugin capabilities are expected by the end of 2026, voice features in the first quarter of 2027, security capabilities in early access in January 2027 and general availability in the second quarter, with the Codex integration expected during 2027.

The companies are also becoming customers of each other. ServiceNow plans to give employees access to ChatGPT Work and Codex, while OpenAI plans to use ServiceNow across its own operations. Neither company disclosed partnership revenue, contract value or adoption targets.
