RobCo announced October 5 that an employee secondary share sale valued the autonomous industrial-robotics company above $1 billion, double its valuation nine months earlier. Existing backers participated alongside new investors Cherry Ventures and European Tech Collective.

U.S. expansion ahead of Alfie launch

The Munich-founded company says it is expanding manufacturing and assembly in Austin, Texas, while keeping core operations in Germany. Chief executive Roman Hölzl has moved to the United States to focus on RobCo’s fastest-growing market.

RobCo plans to launch Alfie, a two-armed robot designed for high-mix and unstructured industrial work, in March 2027. Reuters reported that the secondary transaction involved about $40 million of shares, while RobCo’s own announcement did not disclose that amount.
