xAI announced Grok Voice 3.0 on October 14 and made it available through the Voice Agent API at $0.08 per minute, the same listed rate as Grok Voice 2.0. The launch focuses on speech-to-speech conversations for developers building voice agents.

A specialized voice model, not a general flagship

The company reports a 71.6% score on its speech-agent evaluation and says the model has latency comparable to or below competing systems. Those figures and its characterization of the model as a new performance frontier are xAI's own reported comparisons, not independent benchmark results in this review.

xAI's developer release notes list the new model identifier and update the grok-voice-latest alias. The practical change is availability of a new specialized speech model through the API, rather than a general-purpose frontier-model family launch.
