Agility and GXO expand Digit humanoids to two more U.S. warehouses

Agility Robotics and GXO will expand commercial Digit deployments to logistics sites in North Carolina and Tennessee beginning in early 2027. The plan advances humanoid robots from one live warehouse to a multi-site operation, but the new deployments have not started yet.

Agility Robotics and GXO Logistics are expanding their commercial humanoid-robot partnership from one Georgia warehouse to sites in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee. Deployments are expected to begin in early 2027, giving Digit a path from a single flagship installation to a multi-site logistics program.

Repetitive material handling is the first job

At the new sites, Digit will support e-commerce fulfillment by moving totes and handling other repetitive material-flow tasks. The partners expect to start with Digit 4 and transition to Digit 5 after the newer generation becomes commercially available.

The expansion builds on a 2024 multi-year Robots-as-a-Service agreement at GXO’s Flowery Branch, Georgia, facility. Agility says Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes there and that its commercial fleet has accumulated more than 65,000 hours across customer programs.

Scaling remains a forward-looking test

A second and third warehouse matter because humanoid systems must prove that deployment, maintenance and workflow integration can be repeated outside a carefully supported pilot. Moving the same task across multiple facilities is a more meaningful operational test than a one-off demonstration.

The announcement does not specify robot counts, pricing or productivity targets for the new sites. The 2027 start date and future migration to Digit 5 remain plans, while tote counts and operating-hour figures come from the companies rather than an independent audit.
