U.S. personal-injury law firm Morgan & Morgan says it will invest at least $1 billion in technology and AI over the next decade, including continued development of MX2, its proprietary case-work platform. The firm says the commitment includes nearly $500 million planned over the next five years and follows more than $300 million spent during the previous five years.

MX2 moves from internal deployment toward outside access

Morgan & Morgan reports that MX2 supports work across intake, case management, research, drafting and settlement workflows and has nearly 5,000 monthly active users inside the firm. Reuters says the company plans invitation-only access for other law firms by the end of 2027, turning an internal system into a prospective legal-technology product.

Scale is reported; outcomes remain unmeasured

The spending figures and user count are company disclosures corroborated by Reuters, not audited proof of productivity, case quality or financial return. The announcement does not provide controlled outcome studies, revenue projections for external access or a complete technical description of MX2.

Human review remains a material risk control

Reuters also notes an earlier court sanction involving fake citations in a filing produced with an external AI tool. Morgan & Morgan says it subsequently strengthened training and review. That history makes supervision, provenance and legal verification central to judging the platform's real-world impact.
