D-Robotics says it has completed a $400 million Series C round to expand its Sunrise edge-AI chip portfolio and the software platform it supplies to robotics developers.

The round targets chips and robot software

The company says the financing included a strategic investment by an unnamed global internet company, top-tier institutions and follow-on investors. It plans to use the capital for computing platforms spanning robotics hardware and software, but did not identify every investor or disclose valuation terms.

Adoption figures are first-party claims

D-Robotics reports more than eight million cumulative Sunrise-chip shipments, more than 20 customers for its Sunrise 6P/S600 platform within six months, use across 500 universities and a developer community of 100,000 people in more than 20 countries.

The financing is independently reported, not the performance

TechNode separately reported the $400 million close and intended product investment. The shipment, customer and developer figures come from D-Robotics and were not independently audited in the reviewed sources.
