FuriosaAI closes a $620 million round to scale inference chips

South Korea’s FuriosaAI says it completed a $620 million Series D at a $2.9 billion post-money valuation. The chipmaker plans to expand RNGD production and develop its next accelerator, while its performance comparisons remain company-reported.

FuriosaAI says it has completed a $620 million Series D financing round at a post-money valuation of approximately $2.9 billion. The completed status separates this transaction from announced targets or open fundraising processes.

The South Korean chipmaker named Cisco Investments, Infinitum, Jericho Capital, NeoFort Holding, QUDA Capital and Worldline Capital among its international investors. Korea’s National Growth Fund committed KRW 370 billion, about $280 million, while the Export-Import Bank of Korea, UAMCO and Hanwha Asset Management joined as new investors.

FuriosaAI says the proceeds will expand production and deployments of its RNGD inference accelerator, strengthen the supporting software stack and accelerate a third-generation chip. It plans to produce 20,000 RNGD cards this year and says secured memory and fabrication capacity could support more than twice that output in 2027.

RNGD is a 180-watt, air-cooled PCIe accelerator designed for inference in conventional enterprise racks. FuriosaAI says an eight-card server supplies 4 petaFLOPS of FP8 compute and 384 GB of HBM3 within a 3-kilowatt envelope.

The company also reports throughput and energy-efficiency comparisons against NVIDIA hardware. Those measurements are useful as statements of product positioning, but they have not been independently reproduced here and may vary with model, software and serving configuration.
