Singapore’s Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) opened the Home Team Humanoid Robotics Centre on September 30. The facility is dedicated to training humanoid robots for public-safety use cases.

Robots are in development, not fielded

HTX cites hazardous-material containment and other routine, physically demanding or dangerous tasks as potential uses. CNA reported four prototype robots displayed at the opening, including systems being developed for HazMat response, post-blast investigations, prison searches and ambulance resupply.

HTX’s stated ambition is for a first robot to work alongside officers in a real operational setting by 2028. The date is a target; the use cases and robots remain in development. The article image is an official photo of robots at the centre, not evidence of operational deployment.
