Mistral announced on September 28 that it is opening an industrial AI hub in Munich, extending its work with German companies and researchers on engineering and physical-AI applications. The company said the team includes more than 30 researchers and engineers who joined after its acquisition of Emmi AI.
Industrial partnerships and compute ambitions
Mistral named work with BMW on crash simulations and engineering AI, Siemens Energy on industrial applications, and a research collaboration with Technical University of Munich. It also set a target to build one gigawatt of European compute capacity by 2030.
The hub and partnerships are current company announcements. The one-gigawatt figure is a future target; Mistral did not say that this capacity is already financed, under construction, or operational.
