Samsung Electronics and affiliates announced a combined $1 billion commitment to Helix Digital Infrastructure on September 29, backing the company’s planned AI-infrastructure expansion.
Capital aimed at data centers and power
Samsung describes Helix’s focus as data centers and associated power generation, transmission and fiber. Reuters reports $500 million directly from Samsung Electronics and $500 million from Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.
The commitment signals industrial investment in compute infrastructure, but does not establish operating capacity, project timelines or delivered power.
